For this post, I will share my research about the national flower of The United Arab Emirates, the Tribulus Omannense.
I will create a boutique hotel in Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai, for my project. I will symbolise the country with the nation's flower, Tribulus Omannense. Since a boutique hotel is targeted at travellers, the concept of my hotel is inspired by the flower.
Tribulus Omanense is a small flowering plant in the Zygophyllaceae family. Its delicate, yellow flowers have five petals and a distinct, spiky appearance (Anne, A. 2023). The flower is suitable for creating a hotel because of its simplicity, and it is easy to divide the rooms for the hotel. Since it has five petals, I made each petal a section for the hotel, for example, a lobby section and the rest of the rooms for each petal. Each petal will be enough to fit two hotel rooms. Although the number of rooms in my boutique hotel will be small, this will ensure a more personalised service to the customers, and the hotel will be able to control the quality of the hotel to be a lot better (Lacalle, E. 2023).

Tribulus Omannense
For the middle part of the flower, I decided to make it a fountain area that acts as a central court for the boutique hotel. Since the petals are curved around the edges, I made the petals in a geometric shape (as shown below). This will give the hotel sections a sense of balance and symmetry (Scratch Garden, 2023). It will also make designing the interior of the hotel a lot easier.

Choosing the national flower will attract tourist attention. The building resembles The Tribulus Omannense when looked at from above, making it a Tourist Attraction. Additionally, the small number of hotel rooms allows tourists to enjoy a more personalised experience.
