This week in class I learned about image sequences. What are image sequences? Image sequences are images that follow each other in a logical sequence. During the first session, My tutor gave examples of a few artists and the image sequences that they had made.
Last session, our class tutor split everyone into groups of two to three. He also asked us to create our own Google account and Google Drive specifically for our work. After that, my group went out to take multiple image sequences all around our campus. The images above are some of our sequence images. We took burst shots of a flock of birds flying in the sky. Then we went to a café that has a pool table and we took burst shots of us playing pool. When we were finished, we took the images back to our class and to our computers. We convert the images from .jpg to jpeg. Next, we took the images to a contact sheet generator and generated the images above. We made the mistake of taking portrait sequence images, it should be landscape.
The image above is from an artist called Eadweard Muybridge. The images are some photographic images of a human and an animal in sequence. In these images, you can see you each picture is in a specific sequence that can show the movement of the squirrel jumping or a man walking. Image sequencing provides the flexibility and highest image quality to show a certain action or scene that is happening.
The images above are the final product after a quick editing using Pixlr & Pixlr E. This was our first time making sequence images and it went pretty well. As a practice, we learn from our mistakes and we will create longer images. This will make the sequence images more fluent and people can see clearly the action or the scene.
