Welcome To My Blog

 Hello!!!

Welcome to my Blog! My name is Muhammad Aniq Bin Adnan and I am from Malaysia. I am a student from DMUIC and I am doing architecture. My specialism is designing buildings and creating different perspective drawings. However, I love digital software, editing, creating digital art and photography. I will be using this as a medium to share all of my work and thoughts towards different types of art. I welcome everyone to my blog as I share my experience throughout DMUIC. Selamat Datang!!

I will start off by sharing what I have been researching that I find very interesting and love. Recently I have been looking at perspective drawings and how artists can capture the world around them and sketch it. Denver-based urban sketcher Paul Heaston takes his sketchbook everywhere he goes, capturing the world around him. Each line that he sketches shows a glimpse of his life. Carbon ink pens and pencils are often used to sketch a "perfect perspective", revealing scenes from an artist's point of view. Although supported by scarce evidence, there are multiple attempts to develop a system of perspective that began around the fifth century B.C. in ancient Greece, as part of an interest in illusionism allied to theatrical scenery. However, even though perspective drawings were created by artists during the fifth century, there is no evidence that artists understood mathematically how to represent the art.

“... What happens is of little significance compared with the stories we tell ourselves about what happens. Events matter little, only stories of events affect us.” – Rabih Alameddine.

The image above was from P. Fannius Synistor Cubiculum M alcove, a Panel with the temple at the east end of the alcove, the north end of the east wall Middle of the first century B.C. Boscoreale (Pompeii), Italy. Though Publius Fannius Synistor is still most commonly referred to as the villa's owner ever since his name was found inscribed in a bronze jug in the agricultural sector of the villa, it is not clear if he ever actually owned the structure or just worked in it.

As an Architecture student, it is a must to know the history of perspective drawings and some of the perspective drawings from the past. I usually sketch my perspective drawings in black and white. However it is better to add colour to your drawings, this will show more life and it will show more about what is happening around you. I have created most of my sketches in black and white, and some with watercolours. The most interesting thing about perspective drawing is how you can show people your perspective towards anything and how you see things differently. Other people's perspective is one of the ways you can understand and learn more about something whether it is scenery or buildings. In architecture, it is not always about how you see things, it is also important to see other people's perspectives to learn more and improve on your work.

Research on the National Flower Of United Arab Emirates

For this post, I will share my research about the national flower of The United Arab Emirates, the Tribulus Omannense. I will create a boutique hotel in Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai, for my project. I will symbolise the country with the nation's flower, Tribulus Omannense. Since a boutique hotel is targeted at travellers, the concept of my hotel is inspired by the flower. Tribulus Omanense is a small flowering plant in the Zygophyllaceae family. Its delicate, yellow flowers have five petals and a distinct, spiky appearance (Anne, A. 2023). The flower is suitable for creating a hotel because of its simplicity, and it is easy to divide the rooms for the hotel. Since it has five petals, I made each petal a section for the hotel, for example, a lobby section and the rest of the rooms for each petal. Each petal will be enough to fit two hotel rooms. Although the number of rooms in my boutique hotel will be small, this will ensure a more personalised service to the customers, and the h...

WEEK SIX: Contacts

This is my contact page where you can reach out to me. I have listed the location of my workplace, which is the Art Factory. As I haven't decided whether to add my phone number or not, I have included a random number for now. You can contact me through my email address, and my website links such as Blogger and Instagram are also provided. This page which contains my contacts is a new page that I did and a button that leads to the page. The image above is a lightbox that I added at the very bottom of all of my pages.

Research on boutique hotel (Edited)

This post will be about my research on boutique hotels. The simplest definition of a boutique hotel is “a small, sophisticated, and fashionable business or establishment“. (Giulietta, 2024) Boutique hotels are mainly for people who travel for a short time and want a personalised experience during their stay. The boutique hotel interests me because of its size and the difference in experience compared to a typical hotel. The main reason behind this is that boutique hotels have better quality control, ensuring the guest experiences a comfortable stay. The attention to detail in these hotels' design makes them unique. Boutique hotels are usually made to be one-of-a-kind (WOOLF, 2023) and with that being stylish and trendy. Their designs are more towards elegance and luxury, but the prices are still reasonable. This is suitable for my project as the location for it is in Dubai. A developing country where there are a lot of travellers and tourists passing through. Also, Dubai is known f...
