We were asked to pick out objects and observe them in multiple ways and perspectives for week two. This was to enhance our ideas critically and creatively for our project. Then, work with chosen objects and draw various ways to include them in our project.
I choose the object above because of its attractive shape. The object is a wooden nutcracker. I did not know this before, and it reminds me of a hut from the move Smurfs. I then drew multiple ways that the object can be. Some examples are a Tank from the 1800s or a bottle that contains some sort of liquid. The object has smooth and curved surfaces, with a screwable part at the top of it. This object also reminds me of a mushroom. When I looked at my object, I saw it could be used as an entrance or a balcony for my project. Furthermore, The texture of my project can be smooth and curvy, inspired by the Nutcracker.
This object also reminds me of The Metropol Parasol, Seville, a city in Spain. The structure's design is known locally as "poisonous mushrooms"(Curtis, W.J., 2020). The organic shape of the structure is similar to the object I had chosen. I can design the structure identical to the Nutcracker and The Metropol Parasol, with the same design revolving around mushrooms.
