Location Research: Jumeirah Village Circle

In this post, I will be researching the location for my project.

I have chosen Dubai as the location for the boutique hotel because although it is still a developing country, it is already filled with tourists and travellers all year round. Because of this, a boutique hotel will be suitable for anyone who wants to stay in Dubai for a short period and still enjoy personal service throughout their stay.

After researching multiple locations in Dubai, I found that The Jumeirah Village Circle is the most suitable location for its flat and empty lands, and it acts as a focal point for tourists because it is near a shopping district, shopping mall, and beach. The Jumeirah Village Circle is a luxurious and friendly area for tourists to stay and explore (Home Sweet Home Real Estate Dubai, 2023).

To be more specific, as seen below, this is the location where I have decided to execute the project. It is an empty and flat land and a newly constructed area. It will be a populated area in the future for its location. It is also near to the highway, so it will be easier for people to see the boutique hotel.

Research on the National Flower Of United Arab Emirates

For this post, I will share my research about the national flower of The United Arab Emirates, the Tribulus Omannense. I will create a boutique hotel in Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai, for my project. I will symbolise the country with the nation's flower, Tribulus Omannense. Since a boutique hotel is targeted at travellers, the concept of my hotel is inspired by the flower. Tribulus Omanense is a small flowering plant in the Zygophyllaceae family. Its delicate, yellow flowers have five petals and a distinct, spiky appearance (Anne, A. 2023). The flower is suitable for creating a hotel because of its simplicity, and it is easy to divide the rooms for the hotel. This post will be about my research on boutique hotels. The simplest definition of a boutique hotel is “a small, sophisticated, and fashionable business or establishment“. (Giulietta, 2024) Boutique hotels are mainly for people who travel for a short time and want a personalised experience during their stay. The boutique hotel interests me because of its size and the difference in experience compared to a typical hotel. The main reason behind this is that boutique hotels have better quality control, ensuring the guest experiences a comfortable stay. The attention to detail in these hotels' design makes them unique. Boutique hotels are usually made to be one-of-a-kind (WOOLF, 2023) and with that being stylish and trendy. Their designs are more towards elegance and luxury, but the prices are still reasonable.
