Planning Of 3D Outcome

For this post, I share my plan for the 3D Outcome of my project.

First, I needed to research the dimensions of a standard boutique hotel. The average size of a hotel room in Europe is 172 square feet, 16 square metres (Elphick, 2023). With this, I can decide how big one of my boutique hotel rooms will be. From my past blog about the national flower of the United Arab Emirates, one petal can fit two hotel rooms. As seen below, it is 3.70 metres from wall D, the balcony of the hotel rooms. Using a scale of 1:50 Centimetres, wall D is 7.40 cm long. I used the scale to measure all of my walls to achieve the dimensions for my 3D outcome.
Wall A
Real:  2.5 Metres / 250 centimetres
Scale: 5 Centimetres
Wall B
Real: 3.9 Metres / 390 centimetres
Scale: 7.8 Centimetres
Wall C
Real: 4 Metres / 400 centimetres
Scale: 8 Centimetres
Wall D
Real: 3.7 Metres / 370 Centimetres
Scale: 7.4 Centimetres

After deciding the dimensions I will use, I must determine the best materials to create the 3D Outcome. The materials must be strong, robust, easy to paint, and cheap. With all these factors, I have decided to use wood as the primary material for the 3D Outcome. I can obtain wood through the wood workshop that the University provided. As for the glass roof of the project's central section, I will use plastic and cut it into shape. I will also need to find suitable materials to decorate the project, such as trees, grass and rocks. Trees and grass can be bought online, but I will resource small stones outside to ensure the 3D Outcome stays within budget. In addition, I will use acrylic paint to paint over the wood pieces after they have been cut according to the measurements I made earlier.

This will take 2 weeks or less. I will follow my project plan to finish this before the deadline.

Research on the National Flower Of United Arab Emirates

For this post, I will share my research about the national flower of The United Arab Emirates, the Tribulus Omannense. I will create a boutique hotel in Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai, for my project. I will symbolise the country with the nation's flower, Tribulus Omannense. Since a boutique hotel is targeted at travellers, the concept of my hotel is inspired by the flower. Tribulus Omanense is a small flowering plant in the Zygophyllaceae family. Its delicate, yellow flowers have five petals and a distinct, spiky appearance (Anne, A. 2023). The flower is suitable for creating a hotel because of its simplicity, and it is easy to divide the rooms for the hotel. Since it has five petals, I made each petal a section for the hotel, for example, a lobby section and the rest of the rooms for each petal. Each petal will be enough to fit two hotel rooms. Although the number of rooms in my boutique hotel will be small, this will ensure a more personalised service to the customers, and the h...

WEEK SIX: Contacts

This is my contact page where you can reach out to me. I have listed the location of my workplace, which is the Art Factory. As I haven't decided whether to add my phone number or not, I have included a random number for now. You can contact me through my email address, and my website links such as Blogger and Instagram are also provided. This page which contains my contacts is a new page that I did and a button that leads to the page. The image above is a lightbox that I added at the very bottom of all of my pages.

Research on boutique hotel (Edited)

This post will be about my research on boutique hotels. The simplest definition of a boutique hotel is “a small, sophisticated, and fashionable business or establishment“. (Giulietta, 2024) Boutique hotels are mainly for people who travel for a short time and want a personalised experience during their stay. The boutique hotel interests me because of its size and the difference in experience compared to a typical hotel. The main reason behind this is that boutique hotels have better quality control, ensuring the guest experiences a comfortable stay. The attention to detail in these hotels' design makes them unique. Boutique hotels are usually made to be one-of-a-kind (WOOLF, 2023) and with that being stylish and trendy. Their designs are more towards elegance and luxury, but the prices are still reasonable. This is suitable for my project as the location for it is in Dubai. A developing country where there are a lot of travellers and tourists passing through. Also, Dubai is known f...
